For 125 years, the members of Grace Lutheran Church have been “Together in Christ, that others may know Christ”. The church sits on the corner of Chase & Central in Strong City (south of the feed store off Highway 50 or north of the Chase County Elementary School). We welcome visitors at any time! In the fall of 1884, Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church was organized with about ten or twelve members. In the fall of 1885 the members began to build a frame church, but a storm destroyed the structure before it was finished. It was rebuilt in 1886. Some years later in the 1920s, the church was enlarged by adding a school room to the east end, and still later, in 1938, 10 feet were added to the east end of this school room.
During the 125 years of the congregation’s life it has been served by 18 pastors. Come join us for joyful fellowship and growth in His Word as we praise the Triune God in word and song.
